Ed Maginn teaches a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in chemical and biomolecular engineering, spanning core thermodynamics, engineering analysis, process design, molecular modeling, and professional development. Instruction emphasizes strong analytical foundations while connecting theory to modern computational methods and real-world engineering challenges.

He has also developed and presented several specialized workshops in molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulation, both at Notre Dame and internationally. During these workshops, Maginn provides hands-on training in advanced computational techniques.

Ed Maginn is a trustee of the CACHE Corporation, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1969 to promote cooperation among universities, industry and government in the development and distribution of computer-related educational aids for the chemical engineering profession.
